Privacy-Aware Patient Directory

Hospital patient directories must protect privacy. Instead of displaying a public patient directory, Eye-In supports a secure lookup flow where visitors use an approved form and private PIN to request patient-room navigation.

Patient identity, room details, and directory status remain in the hospital’s controlled system. Eye-In does not store patient room information in the kiosk platform. When access is authorized, the wayfinding system receives only the minimum destination data needed to guide the visitor.

HIPAA allows facility directories under specific conditions, including the patient’s opportunity to object or restrict disclosure, and federal rules list the limited directory information that may be used or disclosed when no objection applies.
