Pointe-Claire, Mid-September 2024 – Lakeshore General Hospital, in partnership with Eye-In Media, proudly announces the installation of interactive kiosks and a virtual assistant, providing an unprecedented navigation solution for patients, visitors, employees, and suppliers.
This cutting-edge technology allows users to navigate the hospital without the need for GPS or downloading an app. By combining advanced techniques such as augmented reality, 3D photos, QR codes, voice synthesis, and touchscreens, Eye-In Media introduces a new generation of smart indoor navigation, accessible via kiosks, smartphones, and desktops.
Guillaume Roux, Director of Development at Eye-In Media, describes this innovation as “the equivalent of Google Street View, but inside the hospital.” He adds, “We wanted to use all the tools and technologies people are familiar with to ensure that everyone can access this solution—whether on a kiosk, their smartphone, or from home.”
This solution was developed in close collaboration with Lakeshore General Hospital’s communications department, working together on the ergonomics, colors, size, and placement of elements on the maps. The project also includes a social media communication campaign, the creation of web pages linked to the application from the CIUSSS de l’Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal’s website, and displays inside the hospital. The hospital’s digital signage network, powered for years by Eye-In Media’s EyeIntelligence system, is also integrated into the initiative.
This new system not only offers intuitive navigation but also optimizes hospital operations by facilitating layout adjustments and minimizing mapping errors.
With this technological advancement, Lakeshore General Hospital continues to enhance patients experience and demonstrates its commitment to innovation in healthcare.
